Lena Matteikat
Early Childhood Behaviour Consultant & Family Routine Specialist
📍 Byron Bay, NSW · Providing 1:1 Online Consultations Australia-Wide & Internationally

Family life should not feel like an endless battle against the clock. When daily transitions, meltdowns, or attention struggles make home life exhausting, the answer is rarely a stricter schedule—it is finding a rhythm that genuinely fits your child.
Professional Background & Experience
With a Bachelor of Early Childhood Education from North Westphalia University in Germany, Lena has dedicated over five years to working directly with children, young people, and families navigating complex behavioural, developmental, and mental health challenges.
Prior to founding The Family Rhythm, Lena worked as an Early Childhood Behaviour Consultant with Caspar Health and across multidisciplinary clinical and community settings. Her work has centered on developing tailored support plans, monitoring behavioural progress, crisis de-escalation, and collaborating closely with allied health professionals, occupational therapists, and paediatric specialists.
“My philosophy is simple: Connection before compliance, and progress before perfection. When we understand how a child experiences their day sensory-wise and emotionally, sustainable routines follow naturally.”
Specialized ADHD Research & Holistic Integration
Lena’s academic research focused on mindfulness-based alternatives and regulation pedagogy for ADHD in early childhood and primary education. She understands firsthand how neurodivergent brains process dopamine, executive functioning demands, and environmental stimuli.
To provide a truly grounded and embodied approach to family wellbeing, Lena continuously expands her practical skill set through ongoing studies in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and Yoga & Somatic Regulation. This allows her to combine clinical developmental rigor with practical, calming sensory tools that parents can easily introduce at home.
Calm Under Pressure & Crisis Support
Having worked across acute youth support environments and fast-paced operational leadership, Lena brings a signature grounded calm to high-friction situations. She excels at helping parents de-escalate explosive moments, navigate sensory overload, and replace panic with clear, supportive action.
Lena is bilingual in English and German and consults with families across Australia and internationally via secure online video sessions.
